Janice is leading the project at Nutrien preparing for mandatory sustainability reporting and moving forward on Integrated Reporting. Janice was recently appointed to the inaugural Canadian Sustainability Standards Board, where she will serve a three-year term to support Canada’s efforts to adopt international sustainability disclosure standards.

Janice has 20 years of financial reporting experience and technical accounting, specializing in agriculture and extractive activities. She joined Nutrien in 2020 as the Director, Technical Accounting, providing expert advice to resolve technical and business accounting issues arising from complex transactions under IFRS and U.S. GAAP. Prior to this, she spent five years at the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) in the Office of the Chief Accountant, most recently as the Acting Chief Accountant and CFO. She was the co-chair of the CSA’s proposals pertaining to the disclosures for non-GAAP and other financial measures. Previously, she spent 11 years at PwC, including three years as a Senior Manager within PwC’s National Accounting Consulting Services practice.

Janice volunteers her time in the community by sitting on CPA Alberta’s Bylaws Committee, and she serves on the board of a local non-profit organization. Previously, she was a member of the Canadian Accounting Standards Board’s IFRS Discussion Group, CPA Canada’s Sustainability Preparer’s Group, and CPA Canada’s Oil and Gas Viewpoints Taskforce.
